I wonder if there is any work done on electronic “Loyalty cards”?
If I carried all the cards that I have been issued by businesses my wallet would have to be enormous. Hence most companies don’t require you to actually hold the card and can do a look up in-store to offer any discounts/rewards etc. Of course I need to remember to request a look up if there is a chance I may have signed up at sometime in the past.
It occurs to me that a simple App could keep track of every time I gave permission to a company to advertise to me. That is what a loyalty card actually is – with or without some form of recompense for providing permission. The current alternative seems to be to download a new App for each organisation.
Once the relationship is established the company can push offers and other advertising – as they currently do through email but in a context sensitive basis. And I would be free to manage contact setting, or retract permission, at any time.
I can see some inherent issues in how the database of relationships is managed and the corrupting incentives for the owners to sell details. Much like Google or Facebook can sell personal data. These concerns should be solvable but I can’t immediately see how.
Anyway – does such a tool exist already? or have the problems proven too difficult? (I can’t believe that it hasn’t been thought of, and tried, already).

Reach Your Target Market Segment By SIC Code & Run Successful Campaign
If marketing data of top industries based on SIC Code is what you seek then you have reached the right place!
The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is a system established by the U.S. Government for classifying industries by a four-digit code. The SIC codes can be grouped into progressively broader industry classifications: industry group, major group, and division. These codes are used for identifying target industries, to promote better communication across business sections and between countries.
